“The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience” – Emily Dickinson

This newsletter is published to share information that I have found to be valuable and powerful in my journey of personal growth and living a life where anything is possible.  It is an expression of my life’s purpose which is to share my wisdom and inspire others.  My coaching practice focuses on coaching women who want to create a life filled with possibilities and realized dreams.  I have learned that you have to stay focused on what you want in spite of the frustrations, challenges, and moments of self doubt in order to achieve the life you value.  I hope you enjoy and find inspiration in the information that I am sharing with you.

  EXCITEMENT
Special points of interest:

Are you ready to do something special for youself today?

Create an image of what excitement would look likefor you.  Bring that image with you tomorrow as you live your day.

Bringing Joy and Excitement into your life can benefit those around you.

When you think of excitement, what is the first thing that pops into your head?  What if I asked you to think of something exciting that you would like to have in your day tomorrow?  What would that excitement look like?  Would it be a day at the beach, or a trip to the zoo, or having coffee and laughter with a friend?  What would you choose for yourself?

In coaching women, I have found that women often forget to schedule joy and excitement into their day.  We women are very concerned about doing for others and being sure we get all the tasks completed for the day.  Joy, laughter, and excitement are postponed.  Most often we postpone and postpone, and then forget about it.  The day starts again and we are swept away into the tasks of another day.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful for you to have 5 minutes of your choosing to experience whatever joy comes your way?

Let’s try something different.  Imagine that before you close your eyes at night, you think of something wonderful and exciting that you would love to have or do in your day tomorrow.  Write it down, say it out loud, or create a picture in your mind.  When you awake in the morning, plan how that joy and excitement will enter your day.  Make a commitment to yourself that you will have time for yourself and experience excitement and joy.

Initially you will need to plan those joyful and exciting moments.  Soon though, those moments come to you spontaneously.  You start to notice and become aware of things around you that are special and create such tremendous joy and excitement in your heart.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful and exciting to see how those moments enter your life?  I want each of you to be excited about your life, each day of your life, and what comes next in your life.  I want all of you to realize that you can design your life – all areas of you life -Personal, Professional, Health, Relationships, Financial, and Fun.

When you are living your life as you designed it, notice the impact that you have on others around you.  Marianne Williamson wrote “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”  What excitement and joy are you ready to have in your life today?  Do not wait until tomorrow.

  HIGHLIGHTS

What can we do to experience more comfort and joy every day of the year?  Created by Donna Lendzyk, BComm, CMA, Certified Corporate Coach

1. Define What Comfort and Joy Really Means to You

We can take for granted that we know what certain words mean to us. What does 'comfort' look and feel like to you? What does it not look and feel like? What does 'joy' look and feel like to you? What does it not look and feel like? Once you have the answers to these questions, you will be more aware of where to find it.

2. Make Decisions Based On These

Often we make decisions based upon things such as how much more money something will bring us or cost us or how well it will enable us to reach career or education goals etc. Next time when you are making such a decision, include considering to what extent the alternatives will bring you more comfort and joy.

3. Remind Yourself Daily for Your Desire for More Comfort and Joy

In our hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we can get caught up into the details of our day and seem to forget what we are really desiring for ourselves, in this case, more comfort and joy. A simple reminder first thing in the morning as we set up for our day can make a big difference.

4. Remove Things Out of Your Life That Do Not Bring Comfort and Joy

Often we can have things in our lives that actually are counter productive to having more comfort and joy in our lives. Make a list of these things, relationships or activities and take steps to eliminate or change them.

5. Do Something Everyday That Brings Comfort and Joy

It doesn't have to be anything big - even adding one small thing that adds a bit of comfort & joy in your day can make a big difference. It may be something you do for yourself early on in the day or it could be something that you can look forward to doing throughout your day such as sipping on a cup of herbal tea for 15 minutes quietly before you go to bed.

6. Take the Best Care of Yourself

In our busy lives our own care can be the very last consideration in terms of our priority. When we practice extreme self-care and take the best care of ourselves, we are more likely to have the energy, enthusiasm and presence to experience more comfort and joy in our day. To take that first step, identify what types of self-care activities you are in need of most.

7. Eliminate Complication - Simplify

Living with complexity in our lives doesn’t sound very comfortable or joyful. Often our lives can become more complex with the addition of new things without the elimination or streamlining of existing things in our lives. As a first step, look for areas of opportunity to simplify your life.

8. Use Your Unique Strengths

All of us have skills that come very natural to us. These skills are so very comfortable for us to use that we often take them for granted and mistakenly assume everyone has these skills. The first step is to realize what your unique and natural gifts are, and find opportunities to use them more often.

9. Delegate Activities Requiring Your Weaknesses

All of us have areas of weaknesses – skills that do not come naturally to you or you have not mastered. When we need to use these skills, it is not very comfortable – nor very joyful. Instead of “suffering” through the activity, find other means to get the job done.

10. Live in Integrity to Your Values

When our behaviors or thoughts are in disharmony with our values, we can feel quite uncomfortable. Sometimes we may not realize what our values are. The first step is to identify your top 1 – 4 value aspects that you value the very most.
